How to Take Accurate Measurements of Shower Doors

Before you start measuring, confirm that your shower walls are fully finished, such as tiled surfaces or tub surrounds.

1. Measure the Width of Your Shower Opening

Take 3 width readings: bottom, middle and top of the opening. Use a tape measure and record the width at the bottom, center and top of your shower opening. All measurements should be taken from the centre of the shower curb.

Measuring at these three positions allows you to spot uneven or out‑of‑square walls. This guarantees your custom‑made shower door will be produced for an optimal fit.

Please provide your raw opening dimensions directly. Our team will calculate all necessary hardware deductions to achieve a perfect installation.

2. Check Walls for Level and Plumb

Carry out a level inspection Use a spirit level to check all walls inside the shower opening, to confirm they are straight and perfectly plumb.

Mark any uneven areas If any section of the wall is out‑of‑level by 3/4 inch or more, record the exact position and deviation value.

Arrange adjustments if required Depending on how uneven the surface is, you may need a tapered filler strip, or we will modify the glass design to compensate for non‑plumb walls.

3. Measure Your Desired Shower‑Door Height

Set your baseline Place your tape measure at the top edge of the shower threshold or tub deck. This point will serve as your height‑measurement reference.

Measure vertically upwards Extend your tape measure straight up to your target shower‑door height. Keep the tape vertical to get an accurate reading.

Choose your finished height Save your measurement and select a suitable door height for your bathroom. Standard shower‑door heights are 72″, 76″ and 80″. Custom‑height glass doors are also available.
